The youngster realised that she and her family had normalised behaviour that is rare in other households. Her father, being the head of the family, calls all the shots and takes it a bit further.
When Mzansi learned about the rigid African man, some made peace with the thought that having an absent father was the greatest blessing. Nonkosi posted the clip three days ago and garnered 979K views.
Lady shares African dad’s extreme behaviour at home
Nonkosi let South Africans in on her family business by sharing how her dad ran his household. The parent demands that all women wear head wraps in the house.

He also makes the cook taste everyone’s plate before the family can indulge in the meal. The perplexed woman shared:
“I asked my mom and grandmother once, and they said it was always done, even in their families. Maybe it’s to make sure that the cook is not trying to poison anyone.”
Nonkosi mentioned that when her father enters the house, everyone must stand up and only sit once he has seated himself. When addressing their dad, they cannot make eye contact:
“You have to look down. He doesn’t care who you are. You cannot look him in the eye.”
South Africans thought the father’s behaviour was quite extreme and that he was living out his fantasy of being king. Nonkosi captioned her now-viral TikTok video:
