WESTERN CAPE - Shireen Lincoln, widow of the late Major-General André Lincoln, has released a video statement confirming that Fadiel Adams was a trusted family friend who shared meals and visited their home regularly.

What Shireen Lincoln said about Adams
Speaking directly into a camera, Lincoln described the friendship between her late husband and Adams as close and built on mutual respect.
"Fadiel Adams and Andre Lincoln were good friends, and he respected Fadiel a lot, trusted him, and Fadiel regularly visited our home," she said.
"I know how he takes his tea; we've had supper together," she added.
She further recalled that on the morning of her husband's funeral, Adams arrived outside their house alone in his vehicle to check on the family and accompanied them to the service.
Lincoln acknowledged she was not privy to the details of the conversations the two men had, but said she believed their discussions covered corruption and gang-related matters. She added that her husband assisted Adams in engaging high-level gang leaders on the Cape Flats to negotiate ways to reduce the killing of innocent people.

The video followed a statement released earlier the same day by Professor Brian Williams, who described himself as a close friend and mentor of Major-General Lincoln.
