Gospel singer Dumi Mkokstad appears to have been vindicated following a wave of cheating allegations that swept across social media, but the drama did not end with the apology. His wife, Dr Ziphozenkosi, made sure of that.

Nsele apologises to Dumi and his wife

After Sindisiwe (Sindy) Nsele released a formal public statement retracting all claims of a romantic involvement with the singer, Zipho responded with a post of her own that many are reading as anything but gracious acceptance.

In Nsele's statement, she wrote: "I wish to categorically state that Mr Nzimande and I have never been romantically, intimately, or otherwise personally involved. Accordingly, I hereby unconditionally retract any allegations or insinuations that we were ever involved in such a relationship." She also acknowledged the damage the allegations caused to Mkokstad's reputation and offered an apology to him, his wife, and their family.

Dr Zipho claps back

Zipho, however, was not ready to simply move on. In her post, shared on Sunday, 25 October 2026, she wrote: "It's unfortunate that apologies don't trend! Sindy Nsele, I hope you find peace for the hurt you have caused our family. You & all those who continue to hurt our family. We have endured pain throughout this ordeal, but our faith remains unshaken. God has fought this battle & will fight those that are yet to come."

The post, which included a reference to Numbers 6:22-26, drew significant attention online. At the heart of Zipho's frustration was the very nature of how social media operates. The original allegations, which included alleged DM screenshots circulated on Instagram, spread rapidly and widely. The retraction, in her view, would never command the same reach.

Reactions to her post were mixed. @tsianelebo wrote: "🤣🤣🤣🤣I would have kept quiet if I were her...coz men will embarrass you 😏😏🤣" @vryblvck commented: "I thought ubhadlile because she's a doctor." Meanwhile, @RenamileM raised a different point altogether: "I really don't understand why it's her that's doing all the addressing."
