Gospel star Dumi Mkokstad's wife, Dr Ziphozenkosi Nzimande, has come out swinging in defence of her husband following the spread of screenshots allegedly showing him exchanging flirtatious messages with another woman. Rather than staying quiet, Zipho took to the comments section of fellow gospel artist Andike KaMajola's Instagram post, which was showing Dumi solidarity amid the storm, to fire back at a sceptical fan.

Zipho challenges fans to think critically

The fan, @miss_sinajan, had made a pointed remark suggesting it must be convenient to be a Christian man whose church brothers rush to protect his name when cheating allegations surface. Zipho was having none of it.

"Oh, so you were there when he was allegedly cheating? Have you personally verified those screenshots yourself? And who exactly is this girl that so many gospel artists want to so desperately pursue her?" Zipho wrote in her response.

She pushed the argument further, asking the fan to consider what it would feel like if fabricated conversations implicating them personally were circulated online by anonymous accounts, while strangers threatened their family and tried to dismantle everything they had spent their life building. "And when the people who love you come to your defence, they are somehow in the wrong?" she added.

This was not Zipho's first move in recent days. On 16 October 2026, she broke a lengthy social media silence to issue a warning about impersonation accounts using her image to scam people, taking indirect shots at AI-generated content designed to mislead the public. She urged followers not to take everything they see online at face value.

Netizens react to Zipho's defence

Social media users had plenty to say. Below is a selection of reactions:

@Zamayworld added:

"Yizwa how she views marriage as 'something you have worked for, your entire life'. Church teaches women that being picked by a man is the ultimate goal. The Church program makes women feel worthless unless they are married."

"She needs to wake up. She's not above the programme."

@iTukela asked:

"The wife decided to post the stanza? Ey. Inzima eyasemshadweni. Ifuna ubu tholo-tholo."

A common thread running through the reactions is that Dumi himself has reportedly not addressed the allegations publicly, leaving his wife to carry the weight of the response while peeps question whether her defence tells a fuller story on its own.
