The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) netball community is grieving the loss of Sibahle Sikade, a player remembered with deep affection by those who knew him both on and off the court.

CPUT Netball confirmed the loss through a tribute posted on social media, in which the club described Sikade as "a brother and a member of our netball family." The club expressed that his absence would be felt profoundly, noting that the connections formed within the programme extended well beyond competitive sport.

In their tribute, the club shared photographs of Sikade in CPUT Netball colours and included the message: "Good people don't leave, they live on in our hearts." The post drew on Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit", as the club offered prayers of strength and comfort to those closest to Sikade.
