Jesse Kriel's R2.2 million ride
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is the Italian marque's performance flagship in South Africa, listed from R2.225 million as of January 2026. Under the bonnet sits a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine, linked to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and Alfa Romeo's Q4 all-wheel-drive system.
The package also includes adaptive suspension, aluminium paddle shifters and a panoramic sunroof, making it one of the more feature-rich performance SUVs in the local market.
Kriel's connection to the Stelvio Quadrifoglio stretches back further than this latest post. Alfa Romeo South Africa confirmed in January 2026 that the rugby star had spent six months behind the wheel during the tail end of his South African season, with the SUV forming part of his daily routine, from training commutes to other personal commitments.
The brand wished him well as he departed for Japan to join the Yokohama Canon Eagles, where he is currently playing his club rugby after leaving South Africa at the end of 2025. Previously, Kriel had also been linked to a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, reported to be worth around R1.5 million.
