Jesse Kriel's Car Collection Features a R2.6 Million Alfa Romeo Stelvio

  • Springbok centre Jesse Kriel owns two contrasting SUVs that reflect very different sides of his personality
  • One of Kriel's vehicles is a high-performance Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio reportedly worth around R2.6 million
  • The two-time Rugby World Cup winner was also linked to a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado worth approximately R1.5 million

Jesse Kriel is celebrated for his composure in the midfield, but away from the rugby pitch, the Springbok centre has assembled a garage that turns just as many heads.

The 32-year-old's vehicle choices swing between rugged utility and Italian high performance, painting a vivid picture of the man behind the jersey.

Jesse Kriel's Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

Before gravitating towards sportier machinery, Kriel was closely tied to a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, reportedly valued at approximately R1.5 million. The vehicle's reputation for durability and off-road capability made it a natural fit for the Springbok star's lifestyle, and Toyota South Africa reinforced that association by featuring Kriel in promotional material for the Prado Dynamic range.

Inside the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio

Kriel's more recent choice is a considerable step up in performance. The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing 375 kW and 600 Nm of torque, and it rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in roughly four seconds. That puts it firmly in sports-car territory despite wearing SUV bodywork. The vehicle carries an estimated price tag of around R2.6 million, making it a significant upgrade from the already premium Prado.

Together, the two SUVs represent an interesting contrast: one built for the wilderness, the other engineered for the fast lane.

On the field, Kriel continues to earn his keep at the highest level. He was part of the Springbok side that secured a 3-1 series victory over New Zealand in the inaugural Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series, scoring during South Africa's 29-24 win over the All Blacks at FNB Stadium.

The Springboks wrapped up the series with a commanding 43-28 victory in Baltimore on 12 September. With the 2027 Rugby World Cup already on the horizon, head coach Rassie Erasmus will likely continue to lean on Kriel's experience in the centres. His garage, meanwhile, suggests that whether it is the rugby field or the open road, the Springbok star does not do anything by half measures.
