Johannesburg is a dangerous city, and taking on the criminals is no game. Muaath Maharaj, the man who was given the title "Joburg's toughest cop", knows this all too well. He faces danger every day as he tries to keep South Africans safe.

Muaath Maharaj is a JMPD K9 officer and is one of the brave men and women who are given the duty of taking on the deadliest crimes in South Africa.
Muaath and his team members are in dangerous and possibly fatal situations every day, but they do it because they want South Africa to be safe.
This brave team covers everything from heists, robberies, hijacking to car theft and drug busts.
Since they work in such dangerous situations, Muaath says he makes sure that he always leaves the house on good terms with his family, just in case he doesn't survive the day.

Briefly.co.za gathered that Muaath has a wife and two daughters, and has been shot at 5 times in the 13 years that he has been serving in the police force.
Muaath says his team is 'elite' because they do the hard jobs that no one else does.
We consider ourselves an elite team because we do what everybody else fails to do.
