Hold the phone, Samthing Soweto has just gone Platinum with his Isphithiphithi album after only two months.

Briefly.co.za reported that Mzansi had loved the amapiano vibe in the musicians latest release, which dropped in late September.

The labour of love had been named after a chaotic place and has managed to sell over 20 000 copies of hit single Akulaleki and a further 40 000 album copies, reports Daily Sun.

Street artist Dbongz had celebrated the moment by painting a street art mural of the Afropop icon which can be found on Fox Street in Jozi.

The album cover had featured Samthing Soweto in a Tony Mokhononoana design to showcase the culture of a proud South African.
