There is something very motivational about a reward system that works. A Nigerian mother with the Twitter handle @Ada_Ojilibeka used this tactic on her son and it delivered a great result.

In a tweet on Wednesday, November 17, the mother said that after she promised her son a Play Station (PS) 5 game console provided he makes the 320/400 in his secondary school entrance examination, the boy performed beyond her expectations.

Spurred by the joy of owning one of the few favourite gadgets among gamers, the boy 'aced' the exam and got 363/400.

The boy passed his exam with an amazing score.

Now the mother is on a 'hunt' for the money as she rhetorically asked tweeps:

"Does anybody have a brand-new spare PS5 Abeg!"

According to the Play Station blog, the starting market price of the console is R6 200.

"Congrats young champ! Please Ma with all due respect do the needful. Agreement is always an agreement."

Meanwhile, LBriefly.co.za earlier reported that a young lady who scored excellent marks in 2020 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination was gifted a brand new car by her parents.

In a video that went viral, the young lady was being presented with the car by a woman believed to be her mother.

Before the key to the new Hyundai Elantra was handed over, the woman was heard saying a prayer for the graduate and encouraging her to replicate the same kind of results in future.
