Masasa Mbangeni stars in a new drama about human trafficking

One of Mzansi's favourite actresses Masasa Mbangeni is starring in a new South African show. The television show is airing on Mzansi Magic on Mondays and is based on the issue of human trafficking in the country.

The plot of the show is fitting for a country like Mzansi, where human trafficking has been a cause for concern over the last few years.

The first episode of the show aired on 4 January 2021 and it is titled Mzali Wam. Popular Mzansi actor Dumisani Mbebe is also starring in the production as a businessman named Terror.

Masasa plays the character of Joyce in the show. Her child named Ntokozo was stolen shortly after birth and they cross paths once again as a human trafficking syndicate rocks the community.

The show was created by media personality Dineo Ranaka and Siphosethu Tshapu.

Dineo is excited that their production is starring some of Mzansi's most talented actors:

"We are fortunate to be working with industry heavyweights Masasa and Dumisani to bring this drama series to life in a story that will hopefully contribute to the plight of human trafficking victims in a country where this crime has been a problem," said Dineo.

In other television news, Briefly.co.za reported that Veteran actress Nambitha Mpumlwana will be making a comeback to television. Nambitha Mpumlwana is loved by a number of avid Mzansi television viewers and they will be thrilled to know that she is going to be making a comeback. Nambitha took a break from the small screen but 2021 is her redemption year.

The veteran won hearts in Mzansi when she played the role of Mawande Memela on Generations. Nambitha is now going to be starring in an upcoming drama series titled The Kingdom. The show is going to be airing on SABC 1.

Nambitha has been cast as the character Josephine, who lives in a rural African town called The Kingdom. The drama is based on bible parables and stories about faith.
