Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy, has scored another credit to his name as he recently emerged as the only Nigerian artist featured in the official inauguration playlist of incoming US president and vice-president, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Hypebeast reports that the 46-track playlist was curated by Benoni Tagoe, Issa Re and D-Nice’s audio label Raedio.
The playlist, which features artists from different parts of the world, is said to be a representation of America’s diversity and also symbolises new beginnings in the country.
Top music stars like Kendrick Lamar, Mary K. Blige, Mac Miller and SZA, among others, had their songs included in the playlist.
Burna Boy, who is the only Nigerian on the list, has his single Destiny off the African Giant album featured in the playlist.
In the song, the Grammy-nominated artist sings about enemies making attempts to hinder his path and steal his destiny from him. He, however, warns that they cannot be successful.

The chorus reads:
"Destiny, can’t touch my destiny.
"Them are try everything
"Them are try take me life
"But I won’t let them get the best of me,
"Destiny, can’t touch my Destiny
"They can take everything I have
"They can take my life
"They can’t touch my destiny"
Perhaps the song was featured in the playlist considering the unique circumstances surrounding Biden’s emergence as the next US president.
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za previously reported that the award-winning singer was lammed by popular Ghananian artiste Shatta Wale. Shatta Wale took to his Instagram page to allege that Burna Boy gossiped about him during his stay in Ghana.
According to Shatta Wale, Burna Boy should have called him if he had any issue to settle with him instead of gossiping around town.
In similar news, Briefly.co.za reported that Kendrick Lamar and Mary J Blige feature on US President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamila Harris' official inauguration playlist. Biden will be inaugurated this coming Wednesday, 20 January.
The hour-and-20-minute soundtrack also features music from MF Doom, Mac Miller, A Tribe Called Quest, N.E.R.D and Burna Boy, among others. The Presidential Inauguration Committee reportedly asked Issa Rae’s Raedio Imprint and DJ D-Nice to curate the playlist.
