Lady Gaga is at the US Capitol to join the host of Hollywood and music industry A-listers who are set to perform at the event.

The musician and Oscar-winner took to social media ahead of the big day to plead for peace from the site which recently dominated headlines around the world after it housed scenes of violence and insurrection.

Gaga plead for peace in her caption as well as wrote that she was praying for the inauguration to mark the beginning of an era of hope and love for the American people.

Her caption read:

"I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans. A day for love, not hatred. A day for acceptance not fear. A day for dreaming of our future joy as a country. A dream that is non-violent, a dream that provides safety for our souls. Love, from the Capitol"

Lady Gaga has been an avid supporter of the Biden-Harris administration and participated in campaign events for them during the election so was an obvious choice to be part of the event.
