The trailer for Anele Mdoda's wedding special dropped on 29 October 2026, and it has set the internet ablaze. The Netflix-exclusive preview pulls back the curtain on what promises to be one of the most talked-about celebrity wedding specials South Africa has ever seen, and if the footage is anything to go by, viewers are in for quite a ride.

Anele wastes no time setting the tone, opening the clip with a candid admission that her life has always been "dramatic." She then reveals that she first met her now-husband, Prince Bonelela "Buzza James" Mgudlwa, when she was just 16 years old, describing him as someone who "really is royalty." Buzza, for his part, matched the sentiment with a heartfelt reflection of his own.

"Not a lot of people get a chance to spend the rest of their lives with their childhood sweetheart," he said in the trailer.

Anele and Buzza first stepped into the public eye as a couple in November 2024, when reports of the relationship began to surface. Their traditional Xhosa wedding ceremony followed in April 2025, but the full story of their union has remained largely untold - until now.

A dream wedding that came at a price

The special does not shy away from the chaos that came with planning such a high-profile ceremony. In one revealing moment, Buzza tells a friend about one of Anele's more extravagant ideas - building a dome for the occasion, with costs quoted between R1 million and R2 million. There were also tense scenes showing the couple scrambling to change their venue, with Anele visibly holding back tears from the mounting pressure of it all.

One of the more emotionally raw moments in the trailer features Buzza breaking down in front of his mother, who responds by firmly telling him that "a man doesn't cry." It is a surprisingly vulnerable scene that adds real depth to the glossy production.

The trailer closes on a triumphant note, with a packed reception hall filled with a choir, white roses and bows adorning the chairs.
