AKA, Kwesta and 2 Other Mzansi Celebs React to Deadly Wits Protests
One person has passed away during the deadly Wits University protest. The hashtag #WitsProtest is trending high on Twitter as South Africans react to the alleged police brutality amid the demonstrations by students on Wednesday, 10 March.

Mzansi celebs have also taken to the micro-blogging app to share their thoughts on the protest. A lot of them are not impressed by the way police are treating the protesting students.
Briefly.co.za has compiled a list of 4 Mzansi entertainers who have shared their opinions on the current situation at the institution. Check them out below:
1. Kwesta
The rapper took to the app to share his views on the situation. He seemed to be on the side of the students. He wrote:
"Really it's stand up and get murdered! That's it. Now they'll get a minister to say some sh*t to distract us from the fact that they are out to silence us forever and the police are happy to oblige because what's an oath to the people when I have a gun. Siyaqedwa."
2. Mmabatho Montsho
Mmabatho took to Twitter to react to a news report that suggested that the rubber bullets were meant for the students who are taking part in the protest. She wrote:
"'rubber bullets that were meant for protesting students'. So students protesting for a chance at education have rubber bullets with their names on them??"
3. AKA
The Fela In Versace hitmaker was also not impressed when he learnt that the the cops had fired at the students. He wrote:
"When the police fire at the students they don’t care if you wearing a red beret or a yellow t shirt."
4. Florence Masebe
The actress was not pleased that some of the tweeps had been posting pics of the dead body. She asked tweeps to refrain from sharing the snap. She wrote:
"Please do not post pictures of dead bodies."
In related news, Briefly.co.za reported earlier that one person has lost their life during the Wits University protests. An unknown person was allegedly killed in a crossfire after police shot rubber bullets at protesting students.
It was unclear whether the man was a student or not. The students are reportedly protesting against financial exclusion. The university said that if it accepts students who have historical debt, it will become financially unsustainable.
Reports say that the unknown man suffered a chest wound from a rubber bullet which resulted in his death. A report by eNCA confirmed the death of an adult male and the arrival of paramedics on scene.
News24 reported that the unknown man was killed on Wednesday morning while police attempted to disperse the crowd of protesting students. The man is believed to have not been partaking in the protests.
