Two Johannesburg friends are lacing up their boots for one of the most personal and ambitious challenges South Africa has seen in a while. Content creator Molelekwa Mahoko, known on TikTok as @mcmegacy, appeared on SABC News on 30 August 2026 to announce that he and his friend Vusimuzi Nelson Nhlapo will walk 600 kilometres from Johannesburg to Durban. The walk begins on 1 September 2026 and is set to run for a full month.

The goal is to raise more than R500,000 while shining a light on children living with disabilities in all nine provinces. A portion of the funds raised will go directly towards care centres that support these children and their families.
