A South African entrepreneur brought a waitress to tears with an act of generosity that quickly captured hearts across the country. On 7 August 2026, Jayden Crosson, known on Instagram as @crossoncourse, walked into a restaurant, sat down for a meal, and decided to do something extraordinary for the person serving him as part of his mission to give away R100,000 to people in need.

A moment she will never forget

When his R1,029 bill arrived, Jayden slipped R5,000 into the folder, leaving the waitress with roughly R4,000 in cash after the meal was covered. The waitress did not immediately grasp what had happened. When the reality of the amount in front of her sank in, she was overcome with emotion. She embraced Jayden in a tight hug and told him she had a baby at home. Without missing a beat, he encouraged her to put the money towards nappies and milk for her child.
