Master KG is preparing to receive a fat cheque for his song Jerusalema after TikTok signed a deal with the Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) and the Composers, Authors and Publishers Association (CAPASSO).

According to a press release, the popularity of South African music on TikTok has led to this deal and artists are set to receive royalties should their music be used on the popular video-sharing app.

"The deal ensures the talented songwriters, composers and music publishers the organisations represent will receive royalty payments when their music is used on the platform," the media release reads.

Considering that Master KG's Jerusalema has more than one billion streams on the app, he's definitely about to make bank with this one.

Six million people in South Africa use TikTok so Master KG and other artists in Mzansi are going to be making some serious money in royalties. The popularity of Amapiano also contributed to this deal. According to the press release, the Amapiano genre has received 181 million views on TikTok.

Artists in Mzansi have complained about not receiving royalties before and this deal will hopefully bring them the rewards that they deserve.

In other entertainment news, Briefly.co.za reported that Master KG's Jerusalema got one billion views on TikTok. Master KG and Nomcebo Zikode are still enjoying the success of Jerusalema even two years after its release.

Master KG took to social media to share the wonderful news that the song has received a warm reception on TikTok and has one billion views on the video-sharing app.

"Jerusalema has over a billion views on TikTok alone damn bro this song doesn't wanna stop! This is freaking amazing!" said Master KG.

Jerusalema has been doing very well all over the world and it is a jam that is loved by many. The song also has over 350 million views on YouTube.
