Power couple Bill and Melinda Gates announced that they would be ending their marriage and the timeline has been in shambles ever since. Mzansi celebrities are also reacting to the news online and have been giving their opinion about the situation.
Briefly News takes a look at reactions from three Mzansi celebrities about Bill and Melinda Gates' breakup.
1. Rami Chuene
The actress is usually very opinionated and didn't miss a beat this time around. Rami was shocked that not even a vaccine could prevent this breakup from happening.
"No vaccine could fix this? Yeses," she said.
2. Lesego Tlhabi
Mzansi satirist Lesego Tlhabi tried to make light of the situation and compared it to Prince Philip's death. Taking to Twitter, Lesego said:
"Prince Philip dies and then suddenly Bill Gates gets divorced. Coincidence?"
She then followed up and said that she was joking - it doesn't mean anything.
3. Maps Maponyane
Mr Buns hilariously made a pun with Bill Gates' name and gave him a new one, Maps simply commented: "Bill Dates" much to the amusement of Mzansi social media users.
Briefly News previously reported that Bill Gates and his wife Melinda announced they're getting divorced after 27 years. One of the world's richest men, Bill Gates and his wife Melinda, has announced that they are working on getting a divorce.
The two have been together for 27 years but no longer believe that they can grow together as a couple.
In a joint statement released on their personal social media account, the former couple noted their decision was made after "a great deal of thought" and putting a lot of work into their relationship.
The two said they have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that enables people worldwide to lead a healthy and productive life. They promised to continue working together in the foundation but felt they would not work out as a couple.
