Lamiez Holworthy has had enough. The South African DJ and media personality used a deeply personal health update on 19 August 2026 to deliver a powerful message about bullying, urging those who are suffering in silence to speak up rather than suffer alone.

Refusing to stay quiet, Holworthy challenged her followers to confront the problem directly.

"Please tag your neighbourhood bully because now more than ever, the suicide rate has gone higher and I'll be damned if I sit back and just let it happen."

She went further, addressing the psychological roots of bullying behaviour.

"We have too many broken little boys and girls walking around in adult bodies and that is why cyber bullying has been normalised and me?" she wrote, before closing with a direct appeal to those causing harm: "I'm tired! Go to therapy and HEAL because we are tired of being bled on."

Her post follows a wave of attention sparked by a viral figure known as Rural Zulu Girl, whose bold and cruel comments about the star made headlines. The woman, who is famously known as being Lamiez' lookalike, bodyshamed Holworthy and made foul remarks about her family history, drawing widespread criticism from Mzansi.

Holworthy's response was not directed at Rural Zulu Girl by name, but rather at the culture that enables that kind of behaviour, pointing to therapy as the path forward for anyone harbouring that level of hurt and hostility.

The post centred on a frightening health scare days after she was rushed to the hospital. Holworthy disclosed that she had been dealing with extreme period cramps and severe back pain for some time, but chose to push through the discomfort and continue working instead of seeking help. That decision nearly cost her her life.

"Living with constant pain isn't normal nor is there any honour in working yourself to death - I learnt that the hard way."

She alluded to suffering from ovarian cysts and endometriosis, encouraging other women to "please visit your nearest doctor."
