Parton passed away on 25 August, aged 80, following what her family described as a brief battle with cancer. In an interview with People magazine on 21 August, just days before her death, she had opened up about facing "hard times" with her health, admitting she had let certain issues go unaddressed while devoting herself to caring for her late husband, Carl Thomas Dean, who had died in 2025.
