British singer Sinéad Harnett gave South African fans something to smile about, sharing a video of herself attempting local dance moves just days after wrapping up two landmark performances in the country. The clip, posted on 6 October 2026, was captioned "Learning South African dance moves! How did I do?" and quickly got Mzansi talking.

The video came hot on the heels of Harnett's appearances at the iconic Sprite In the City concert, where she performed in Cape Town on 3 October and Johannesburg on 4 October. For the If You Let Me singer, the trip was far more than a work engagement.

Sinéad Harnett's long-awaited Mzansi dream

Harnett had been vocal about how much the visit meant to her, revealing that South Africa had been on her bucket list for her entire career. She recalled the painful moment COVID-19 snatched away what would have been her first opportunity to perform there.

"I kicked the wall many times and injured my foot when COVID took away my first chance to sing with you. But alas, the time is now, and ain't nobody stopping me this October. You don't know how excited I am," she said.

The dancing was not the only local tradition Harnett embraced during her stay. On the day of her first show, she also had a go at speaking with an authentic Mzansi accent, even taking the time to learn how to correctly pronounce "braai meat."

South African supporters wasted no time rallying behind the singer's dance attempt, flooding the comments with warmth and encouragement.

Harnett joins a growing list of international artists who have made their way to South Africa in recent months, including singers Tamia, Chris Brown and Boyz II Men.

Also set to visit the country are Miguel, Keyshia Cole and rapper J. Cole, among many.
