South African content creator Dominic Zaca is in tears after a visit to a police station left her shattered and questioning whether her life has any value in the eyes of law enforcement. In a raw, selfie-style video filmed outdoors against a brick wall, she addressed the camera directly, visibly distraught and emotionally drained.

Zaca opened up about a deeply personal truth that has shaped her relationship with the justice system for years.

"I've never believed in our justice system," she said. "That's why I've never reported when I was assaulted. I've never reported when I was being beaten up. I've never reported anything. I've always shut my mouth and just took it."

SAPS Told Zaca Her Life Threat Was 'Small'

What pushed her over the edge this time was the response she received when she finally decided to take action. After presenting her evidence at the station, she says a station commander minimised her situation entirely, telling her how "small" her case was and how "insignificant" the threat to her life appeared to them. She added that the suspect was treated with more consideration than she was, and that she effectively became the suspect in the exchange.

"The same police sit with your father for a whole month, do nothing with that. Then they tell you how small your case is, how small your charges, how unimportant it is," she said.

Zaca's distress went beyond her personal experience. She drew a direct line between police indifference and the deaths of South African women and gay people.

"I get why South African women and gay people die every day because the police don't care," she said.

She ended the video with a haunting statement, saying that if her life were to end, she wanted people to know she had fought and presented every piece of evidence she could, but that none of it seemed to matter.

"My life doesn't mean jacks. Absolutely nothing," she said.

The video comes weeks after Zaca made headlines in September 2026, when she admitted to sharing her relationship story with blogger Jasmine to control the narrative after being blackmailed. She had revealed that her ex-partner was allegedly using her money to fund another woman.
