A South African woman went viral on TikTok in July 2026 after sharing a WhatsApp message she sent to director Tyler Perry back in 2022. The woman, who goes by @tsheg0_atso on TikTok, claimed she pitched a sequel concept for Perry's popular film Why Did I Get Married, and believes he may have used it.

She described her idea as a continuation of the original story, where the older couples from the first film go on another holiday and meet a group of newlyweds along the way.
