Checkers has quietly expanded what you can order on its Sixty60 app well beyond groceries, with prebuilt desktop gaming computers now available for on-demand delivery across parts of South Africa.
The systems are built by PCBuilder, a brand under Syntech, one of the country's leading technology distributors. Instead of the motorcycles typically used for everyday grocery orders, Sixty60 appears to be deploying Suzuki Eeco vans, the same vehicles used for its Hyper delivery service, to handle the bulkier loads.

Three gaming PC options available
At launch, three configurations were listed on the app, each running an AMD Ryzen 5 5000-series processor and Windows 11 Home.
The entry-level Defender, priced at R11,499.99 (down from R12,999), comes with a Ryzen 5 5600GT, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and 480GB of NVMe storage. It does not include a dedicated graphics card, relying instead on built-in AMD Radeon graphics, which limits its gaming potential.
Stepping up to the Scout at R14,999.99 adds an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 with 6GB of video memory and bumps storage to a 1TB NVMe SSD. The top-tier Sentinel, priced at R16,999.99, matches the Scout's GPU and storage but features a more capable Ryzen 5 5600XT processor.
All three machines share the same MSI or Asus A520M motherboard platform, a 550W power supply, and the PCBuilder Protector micro ATX chassis.
Availability and competition
Stock availability on Sixty60 depends on location, as not all Checkers Hyper stores carry the prebuilds. Shoppers are encouraged to check the app for listings in their area.
Checkers is not alone in this space. TakealotNOW also offers on-demand electronics delivery, including computer peripherals, drawing on a network of partner stores and dark stores to fulfil orders within roughly an hour.
Beyond the PC systems, Sixty60's electronics category already lists gaming consoles, monitors, smartphones, tablets, keyboards, mice, gamepads, headsets, and earbuds, making the addition of full desktop systems a natural, if surprising, next step.
