The woman behind the scenes

To those who worked alongside her, Lindi was the quiet engine driving much of what HFCR did daily. She organised, helped and showed up consistently without seeking recognition. Her commitment to the rescue ran alongside a full and deeply meaningful personal life. She was a devoted wife to Hanco and a dedicated mother to her two children, Daniké and little Lihan.

Friends and fellow volunteers described her as someone whose faith gave her extraordinary strength. She had been receiving immunotherapy treatment, but her body, worn down by the disease, could no longer hold on.

“We all prayed desperately that the immunotherapy would give her more time, but her body had simply been through too much,” HFCR wrote.
