A South African man who goes by DPSE on TikTok proposed to his partner inside a retail store on 3 September 2026, and the moment has since moved thousands of people online.

The handheld footage, posted on 6 September 2026, captures the raw emotion of the proposal. He kneels in the middle of the store as his partner reacts with visible surprise before the two embrace.

In the caption accompanying the video, DPSE explained the weight behind the moment. He thanked his partner for believing in him when no one else did, for being patient while he built his construction company, and for giving him a son and a daughter. He wrote that the ring was his promise to spend the rest of his life making her as happy as she had made him.
