SOUTH AFRICA - The March and March Movement has set 30 September 2026 as the date for its next wave of mass action, calling on the South African government to deport illegal immigrants from the country.

In a formal statement, the organisation described the upcoming protest as a second wave of its 30 June National Day of Action. It urged all heads of state to prepare for what it called a mass deportation of illegal foreigners in South Africa before the September deadline.

"The movement is confident and in a structurally better position than it was on June 30 to launch a mother of all national day of action against illegal foreigners in SA," the statement read.

The movement also directed sharp criticism at the South African Police Service, calling on authorities to withdraw a national instruction circular issued in July 2026, which the organisation labelled unconstitutional.

Durban SADC Summit becomes protest target

While making its announcement, the movement was simultaneously staging a protest outside the Southern African Development Community summit being held in Durban. The event, attended by heads of state from across the SADC region, became the backdrop for the group's latest demonstration.

The protest was held under the theme "It's time to fetch your people," a direct message aimed at neighbouring governments to take responsibility for their nationals living illegally in South Africa.

The movement has not disclosed further details about planned locations or logistics for the September action.

Natjoints warns March and March

Briefly News also reported that law enforcement agencies issued a firm warning to anyone intending to disrupt the 46th Southern African Development Community (SADC) Summit, scheduled to take place at the Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban this weekend. The warning followed a call by March and March and its leader, Jacinta Ngobese Zuma, urging supporters to stage a protest on the sidelines of the summit. In a post on X, Ngobese Zuma noted that heads of state from SADC member countries would be present in the city and called on South Africans "who are fed up with their people illegally coming into our country" to join the march and send a message.
