SOUTH AFRICA - A meeting between anti-immigration movement March and March and civil rights organisation AfriForum has ignited fierce debate across South Africa. On Tuesday, 18 August 2026, March and March founder Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma sat down with AfriForum CEO Kallie Kriel. The outcome was a formal collaborative working group aimed at tackling shared community concerns.

The two organisations agreed to establish a joint framework to address grassroots challenges. Their areas of cooperation include upholding the rule of law, fighting crime, addressing illegal migration, and improving socio-economic conditions in communities. The partnership was announced despite the two groups holding differing positions on several issues.

Ntsiki Mazwai slams Jacinta over Afriforum

Briefly News reported that City of Johannesburg mayoral candidate Ntsiki Mazwai has publicly criticised activist Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma for consulting with AfriForum in establishing her legal advocacy group, the SA First Forum, sparking a heated debate online. Ngobese-Zuma, who leads the March and March movement, defended her meetings with AfriForum as purely consultative.Mazwai took to her X page on 18 August and pointed out what she views as a major oversight in Ngobese-Zuma's approach, questioning how she could seek guidance from the group.
