GAUTENG — More details have emerged about the woman's body that was found in Kwa-Thema, Ekurhuleni.
The body was discovered on the side of a road near a clinic in the area on 15 September 2026. It was the sixth discovery of a woman's body in the Ekurhuleni area in the space of two months.
eNCA journalist Nabeelah Shaikh reported from the scene, confirming that police were present and that the victim had been found in a naked and decomposed state. The decomposition of the body suggests the woman was killed some time before her body was dumped.

Ward councillor confirms the state of the body
Speaking to the media, City of Ekurhuleni councillor Sizwe Nhleko said they were alerted to the body through a community WhatsApp chat group. He also noted that the body appeared to have been dumped in the area.
“This morning we just received a WhatsApp message from all the work groups saying that there’s a body found here of a woman. We then rushed here to discover that the body was a woman, and then you can see that the body was dumped here because when you check the scene you can see this incident never happened here, but the body was starting to be decomposed," he said.
The KwaThema discovery follows a string of similar cases in the broader area. Four women's bodies were previously found dumped in Kempton Park over the course of two months, while a fifth victim's body was dumped along a road in Olifantsfontein on 14 September — just one day before the latest find. KwaThema lies approximately 45 kilometres from Kempton Park.
Criminologist weighs in on possibility of a serial killer
Briefly News reported that criminologist Professor Nirmala Gopal weighed in on the murders in Kempton Park.
Professor Gopal said that the pattern of killings involving the four women was consistent with the work of a single perpetrator.
The police have urged caution against drawing premature conclusions, as the community has been gripped by fear.
