Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has reacted to the results of his plan to overcome Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League match last weekend.

The Red Devils manager was a victim of attacks and insults as he led the Egyptian giants to Tshwane against his former employers.

Sundowns supporters argued that Mosimane is not a hero after dumping the DStv Premiership side for Ahly.

After their 1-1 draw at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday afternoon where his team cruised to the semi-finals, Mosimane singled out a number of Sundowns players who are always a threat. He said:

“When Sirino, Thapelo, and Zwane go out, those are the problem players. You could see in the first half with their interplays. When you bring in different personnel, you have to cross the balls instead of trying to lock the resolute Ahly defence.”

However, the coach’s reactions have left the Mzansi football family divided and Briefly News takes a look at the comments on Twitter.

“We should find time to discuss the similarities between coach Pitso, Kaiser Chiefs fans and politicians... I never thought I'd live to witness Chiefs fans praising Coach Pitso.”

@Zlatansoni said:

“So you thought he was gonna stay at Sundowns for a lifetime? In football, people cross paths every season. Today it’s funny how he frustrates you with his interviews, which is something you use to enjoy while he was at Sundowns."

“Let him win the Egyptian league on his own then I will say he's the best for now the three brothers just took the league in three or two games to go. They are good for us, not for him, they'll try it next time.”

@KhosaXikombiso said:

“He is not on top of the log in Egypt, if he is good let him win the league. Going to the next round is not a guarantee that he will win, Champions League. As for Chiefs, you are fighting 4 top 8 and relegation. Stop running naked, football is bigger than you think.”

@Teebogo7 said:

“He is lying Morena was poor no crosses, poor defence and he scored 2 goals in Egypt because of him, he targeted him and scored I disagree. Anyway, Zwane is carrying an injury that is why he was substituted. He parked a bus and it worked for him but we will see for how long?”

“He was fooling fools like you and also playing mind games to pirates to not play defensive football against him so he can beat them left and right. He said that because he was bitter like you chiefs were giving him tough time fool.”

Briefly News reported that Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane’s men are going through a rough patch as they recently registered a 1-1 draw against Zamalek.

The Red Devils netted in the 72nd minute through second-half substitute Salah Mohsen, who latched onto Amr El-Sulya's pass before rounding goalkeeper Awad to fire into the back of the net.

However, Mosimane’s troops were denied the lead after 11 minutes as the White Knights scored courtesy of Ferjani Sassi's strike. Just before their eagerly-anticipated clash against his former club Sundowns in Cairo, Mosimane and his men were looking for a motivating result.
