Relebohile Mofokeng has wasted little time making an impression in the Belgian Pro League, with former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bennet Mnguni singling out the youngster's football intelligence as the key to his early success at Royal Union SG.

The 21-year-old winger completed a high-profile move from Orlando Pirates to the Belgian club in July, arriving after the FIFA World Cup. In nine appearances across all competitions, he has already registered four goals, signalling a smooth transition to European football.

Mnguni Breaks Down Mofokeng's Game

Speaking to KickOff, Mnguni offered a detailed breakdown of why the young attacker has been so effective despite his slight physique. "The boy is short and small in stature. To compensate, he makes sure he is always first to the ball and releases it before you can touch him. If you do touch him, it is a foul," Mnguni said.

The former Sundowns star also pointed to Mofokeng's spatial awareness as a defining quality. "The reason he rarely ends up on the floor is because he avoids contact. He simply wants to move into space. When he dribbles past you, he makes sure you are still five metres away," Mnguni added.

Bafana Bafana Role Grows Under Mosimane

Beyond club football, Mofokeng has continued to grow in stature at international level. He scored twice against Eritrea in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and has become an increasingly important figure for Bafana Bafana since Pitso Mosimane assumed charge of the national team.

His form at both club and international level has not gone unnoticed. Reports suggest Mofokeng has attracted interest from several clubs during his short time in Belgium, with speculation that a standout debut season could open the door to a move to one of Europe's bigger leagues before the campaign concludes.
