Ndlovu revealed that the money was lost through an international deal involving contacts linked to Dubai. The arrangement unravelled after the individuals involved allegedly vanished with the funds. His losses exceeded R5 million and climbed towards R6 million in total.
In a bid to recover what he could, he engaged a private investigator, an effort that reportedly set him back a further R1 million.
The circumstances surrounding the deal, those involved, and whether any legal steps were taken could not be independently confirmed.

A warning to aspiring entrepreneurs
Rather than staying silent about the ordeal, Ndlovu used his experience to caution others entering business partnerships. He stressed the value of thorough due diligence, from verifying the legitimacy of deals and the credibility of partners to securing solid contracts and sound legal advice before committing large sums of money.
His reported move into chrome mining comes alongside earlier ventures in hospitality and nightlife. He previously acquired Goodfellas Night Club and launched Legacy Lifestyle Lounge in Nelspruit, with Casa Dela Villa Guesthouse also reported among his interests.

From Park Station to the Champions League
Ndlovu's rise to professional football was far from comfortable. As a young player travelling to Johannesburg for trials with Platinum Stars, he found himself without enough money for accommodation and was forced to sleep in a toilet at Park Station just to keep attending training sessions.
That perseverance paid off. He went on to represent clubs across Israel, Cyprus, Azerbaijan and China, among others. His most celebrated moment came during the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League, when he scored the away goal against FC Copenhagen that helped Qarabağ qualify for the group stage for the first time in the club's history.
He also scored in Bafana Bafana's 6-0 win over Seychelles in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in October 2018.
Beyond his mining interests, Ndlovu has spoken about wanting to become a football club owner and a player agent, with mentor Walter Mokoena credited as an influence in shaping his understanding of the game's inner workings.
His story is a reminder that the skills required to succeed in business are distinct from those that drive a sporting career, and that even hard-won success on the pitch offers no guarantee of smooth sailing off it.
