Pitso Mosimane Reflects on Dream Bafana Bafana Start and Sends Message to President Ramaphosa

Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has reflected on a flawless return to the national team, expressing gratitude to President Cyril Ramaphosa after a landmark international window that produced three consecutive victories.

Mosimane, 62, posted his thoughts on Instagram following a camp that yielded maximum points across three matches — results that have injected fresh optimism into the Bafana faithful ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The international break saw Bafana claim a 2-1 victory over Guinea and follow it up with an emphatic 5-0 demolition of Eritrea in the AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign. The squad then travelled to Cairo, where they produced a composed 1-0 win over Egypt — a result made more notable by the fact that Mosimane fielded a youthful, relatively inexperienced line-up for the occasion.

"Three games, three wins. Being in camp with the team last month was a privilege. We tested ourselves, seen the quality within this team and made a positive start towards AFCON 2027 qualifiers. There is still a long road ahead, but the direction is clear and the work continues. Grateful to represent South Africa and to everyone who continues to support Bafana Bafana," Mosimane wrote.

**Mosimane Thanks Ramaphosa for Cairo Visit**

Beyond the results on the pitch, the coach also used his post to acknowledge a visit from President Cyril Ramaphosa during the squad's stay in Egypt — a gesture the veteran coach described as an honour.

"A special thank you to His Excellency, President Ramaphosa, for paying us a visit whilst we were in Egypt. It was an honour to meet you and hear your words of encouragement," Mosimane added.

The presidential visit added further significance to what was already a memorable window for South African football. With Mosimane's first three matches in his second stint at the helm all ending in wins, his return to the dugout has exceeded expectations, and supporters will be watching closely as the AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign continues to take shape.
