Kaizer Chiefs striker Wandile Duba had the perfect response to TS Galaxy’s social media banter after scoring a hat-trick in Amakhosi’s 3-0 Carling Knockout victory at FNB Stadium on Tuesday, 27 October 2026.

The 22-year-old was named Man of the Match after scoring all three goals in the second half, helping Chiefs book their place in the quarter-finals and answering the taunts that had circulated before the encounter.

Duba fires back after TS Galaxy’s taunt

TS Galaxy had previously shared a provocative meme depicting a donkey looking into a mirror and seeing a lion reflected back at it, in a dig at Kaizer Chiefs. The post became a talking point ahead of the last-16 encounter.

“We knew today that we had to win this game. The donkeys made them run today and they were nowhere to be seen.”

The Chiefs striker backed up his words with a decisive performance, scoring three times in an 18-minute spell after a goalless first half. Duba broke the deadlock in the 48th minute, finishing a low cross from Pule Mmodi after Mduduzi Shabalala helped create the opening down the right.

His second goal came in the 62nd minute after Mfundo Vilakazi’s penalty was saved by TS Galaxy goalkeeper Melusi Mathebula. Duba reacted quickest to the rebound and fired home from close range.

Four minutes later, he completed his hat-trick by running onto a through ball from Shabalala and beating Mathebula to make it 3-0.

The performance earned him the Man of the Match award and sent Chiefs into the next round of the competition.
