Former Wales and British & Irish Lions flyhalf Dan Biggar has placed a points value on Siya Kolisi's leadership, arguing that the Springbok captain's presence on the field is worth between five and ten points to his team.
Biggar made the comments on his podcast, Biggar Thinking: Rugby Analysis, following the Springboks' 33-26 win over the All Blacks in Cape Town last Saturday. Kolisi had returned to the starting line-up for that match after missing the opening Test of the series with a hamstring injury.

The former Lions playmaker was struck by Kolisi's performance with ball in hand, as well as his defensive contributions throughout the contest.
"I actually thought Siya Kolisi was amazing on the weekend," Biggar said. "I just thought his ability on both sides of the ball, the way in which he carried, the way in which he defended, smoking people, carrying, dragging the team with him. I don't think he gets enough credit for his ability as a rugby player. I thought he was brilliant."
Biggar's admiration extended well beyond the physical aspects of Kolisi's game, with the South African captain's conduct off the ball drawing particular attention.

"I just think for me, when you have Kolisi, that type of leader, inspirational person on the field, I think it's worth five to 10 points," Biggar said.
He pointed to specific moments during the match when Kolisi was visibly directing teammates even from the periphery of play. "You saw the leadership, the way in which he, even when he was off the pitch, [was] dragging teammates forward, pointing at posts, deciding, you know, just being an out-and-out leader. So, I thought he was fantastic on the weekend and a brilliant rugby player, as well as a brilliant leader."
The result extended South Africa's winning record in recent meetings with New Zealand, and Kolisi's return to fitness will be seen as a significant boost for the Springboks as the series continues.
