The 22-year-old will miss the upcoming Bledisloe Cup Tests against Australia as well as the end-of-year Nations Champions matches, leaving head coach Dave Rennie without his first-choice No 10 at a critical stage of the international calendar.
Love's breakout year cut short
Love had cemented himself as a central figure in New Zealand rugby this year, starting in all but one of the All Blacks' Tests. His only absence came during the defeat to the Springboks in Baltimore during the Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series. He also played a pivotal role in guiding the Hurricanes to their first Super Rugby Pacific title in a decade.

Rennie faces flyhalf selection dilemma
With Love unavailable, New Zealand's coaching staff will need to settle on an alternative at No 10. Richie Mo'unga and Josh Jacomb have both been named in the squad as flyhalf options, while Damian McKenzie and Beauden Barrett are also in consideration for the role.
The injury adds pressure to a selection decision that carries considerable weight given the quality of opposition New Zealand face in the coming weeks.
