Nafiz Modack is facing 63 charges in the Regional Court at Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court ranging from murder, attempted murder, corruption and money laundering.

The magistrate presiding over the case, AC Mashala, was involved in a shooting which the magistrate was wounded.

Lieutenant-Colonel Koliswa Vani, who was stationed at Delft Police Station, had taken her car to get washed when a group of men approached her under the pretence of getting a car washed.

Shots were fired which resulted in the death of Vani. Mashala was wounded in the exchange according to News24.

The incident is being urgently attended to by the police and security around the magistrate has been increased.

The case has been postponed following the incident according to IOL.

Earlier, Briefly News reported that alleged underworld boss Nafiz Modack is not a criminal at all according to his supporters who flocked to the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

They claim that he is a humanitarian who helps feed thousands of people and is not the murderer or criminal that the police claim he is according to IOL.

Modack was taken to Pollsmoor Prison on Friday after he appeared in court, he was accompanied by Jacques Cronje, Ricardo Morgan and Zane Kilian.

Modack is facing charges of intimidation, kidnapping, extortion, money laundering and contravention of the Electronic Communications Act according to the Daily Voice.
