British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reportedly announced that his wedding will take place next summer.

Various media reports suggest that Johnson and his fiancée Carrie Symonds have set a wedding date for next year after delaying plans due to the coronavirus pandemic, The Sun tabloid reported Monday.

Known for his colourful love life, Johnson is set to become only the second prime minister ever to marry while in office in the United Kingdom, following Robert Jenkinson in 1822.

According to IOL, the lovely couple has sent "save the date" cards for July 30 next year.

The Sun also has it that when he was elected to office in 2019, the 56-year-old became the first prime minister to live at Downing Street as one of an unmarried couple.

Boris and Symonds got engaged in late 2019 but, like thousands of other loved-up Brits, have had to delay plans because of Covid-19.

Details of exactly where the couple will say “I do” remain a closely guarded secret but pals say they are waiting until next year for a big celebration to be on the safe side.

His partner Symonds, a 33-year-old former head of communications for the Conservative Party, gave birth to their son Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson in April last year.

The SABC reports that Johnson was previously married to Marina Wheeler before Allegra Mostyn-Owen, so Symonds will be his third wife.

Briefly News reported that it was indeed a joyful period in the life of United Kingdom (UK) prime minister, Johnson, following a recent announcement he made as it regards his personal life.

The politician made it known that he and his girlfriend Symonds, are expecting their first child together, Time reported.

As if that was not enough, Johnson also made it known that he and his woman are engaged and set to get married.

The prime minister and his girlfriend, made history as the first unmarried couple to openly live together at the British prime minister’s official London residence when they moved in last year.
