South African DJ Cyan Boujee has fired back at singer MaWhoo in a spicy social media feud that has taken over X this week, and she did not hold back.

The drama began when MaWhoo posted a photo of herself alongside a man on her WhatsApp stories, simply captioning it "My happiness." The post appeared to confirm long-running rumours that the two artists have been throwing shots at each other over the same man. Netizens on X pointed to Kagiso Lerutla, the former Ekurhuleni CFO and current City Manager who has previously been linked to high-profile women, as the man in question, though this remains an allegation.

Cyan sings MaWhoo's own lyrics

Rather than responding with a direct statement, Cyan took a more theatrical route. In a handheld, selfie-style video filmed outdoors near what appears to be a pool area, Cyan cheekily sang MaWhoo's own verse from "Bengicela" back at her — essentially using the singer's own music as ammunition.

The message in the clip was pointed: Cyan called out MaWhoo for posting an old photo, insisting the pictures were from a year ago and not recent. "Poster tsa nou," she said, pushing MaWhoo to post current pictures instead.
