A messy social media spat between amapiano singer MaWhoo and DJ Cyan Boujee went viral on 19 October 2026 after the two women exchanged pointed Instagram Stories posts over an alleged shared love interest. The drama kicked off when MaWhoo hinted that a man had been texting her behind Cyan's back, and things escalated quickly from there.

Cyan trolls MaWhoo's three houses

When MaWhoo upped the ante by claiming her man had bought her three houses cash, speculation spread quickly online. Netizens pointed to former Ekurhuleni CFO and current City Manager Kagiso Lerutla, who has previously been linked to high-profile women, as the man at the centre of the feud, but that remains an allegation.

Cyan responded with a poolside lifestyle collage on Instagram Stories, showing champagne glasses, food, and sun-soaked views from what appeared to be a luxury home. Her caption read: "You own the houses on IG; I own the view in real life." The kicker? She paired the entire post with MaWhoo's own song, "Ngiyazi Sibaningi," making the dig even sharper.

So what happened between the two? MaWhoo fired the opening shot on 18 October, sharing a screenshot of an incoming message that read:

"My twin! 😘❤️😍🥰 You believe a mad lady over me. I really be having people mad for years." The implication was clear — the mystery man was allegedly reaching out to defend himself to MaWhoo while publicly linked to Cyan.

Cyan wasted no time hitting back. "HE ON MY PHONE TRYNNA PROVE HE DON'T FW HER, SHE ON SOCIAL MEDIA TRYNNA PROVE SHE FW HIM, JUST DUMB & DUMBER. My name alone will ruin a B's whole day," she wrote, making no effort to soften her response.
