Amapiano star MaWhoo's very public feud with influencer Cyan Boujee has taken a dramatic turn, with social media users now pointing fingers at a senior government official allegedly linked to the singer.
MaWhoo and Cyan trade insults
The drama kicked off on 18 October 2026, when MaWhoo and Cyan appeared to trade thinly veiled shots at each other on Instagram Stories. According to blog page @sahiphop_piano on X, the two were fighting over a man, with the post reading: "MaWhoo responds to Cyan Boujee as the two fight over a man. Cyan allegedly took MaWhoo's man, 'Kodwa indoda ngiyithathile,'" the post shared Cyan's words.
MaWhoo opened the back-and-forth by sharing a screenshot of an incoming text notification that read: "My twin! 💋❤️😍🥰 You believe a mad lady over me. I really be having people mad for years." Cyan fired back with her own Instagram Story, writing: "HE ON MY PHONE TRYNNA PROVE HE DON'T FW HER, SHE ON SOCIAL MEDIA TRYNNA PROVE SHE FW HIM, JUST DUMB & DUMBER. My name alone will ruin a B's whole day."

Amid the back-and-forth, MaWhoo reportedly claimed on Instagram that her man had purchased three properties for her outright, with no financing involved.
Ekurhuleni official named in allegations
That revelation sent speculation into overdrive. On 19 October 2026, X user @lepara_10 tagged the @RSASIU account, alleging that a former Ekurhuleni CFO and current City Manager, who reportedly earns R4.8 million per annum, had bought three properties in cash for his alleged girlfriend, identified as Thandeka Nontobeko Ngema, known publicly as MaWhoo.
"Is this possible? Where did the large sums of cash come from?" the post questioned.
It is important to note that these are allegations and speculation. No official confirmation or verified link between MaWhoo and the named official has been established.
