A local family are overjoyed after finally claiming back the land taken from their father in 1978. Although their old man's not here to witness the momentous occasion, the Marius family is definitely still grateful to see his dream come to fruition.
The children of Frank Marinus junior were still alive to claim the land on his behalf. Speaking to City of Cape Town officials, the siblings detailed their plans for the piece of land.
"Thanks to God for making this all possible and for granting us, as siblings, the opportunity to witness this day. We are very happy that we are still healthy and can, after 43 years, get this piece of land back.
'We do not yet have plans for the land. Our late father Frank Marinus (Jr.) always said, ‘Don’t count your chicks before they hatch’, said Ms Geraldine Marinus, one of the beneficiaries of the small plot.
Mzansi social media users took to the comments section, wishing the determined family good luck with developing their newly owned property. Check out some of the comments below:

In some more inspirational news, Briefly News previously reported that a local mother's worst fear nearly became a reality after her two-year-old daughter started choking on a sweet while they were shopping at Clearwater Mall in Roodepoort.
According to Danika van der Berg, she was shocked to see her daughter suddenly vomiting and turning blue while trying to dislodge the sweet. Shocked shoppers rushed over to help the little one and her mother to no avail - she was still not breathing.
After four different people attempted CPR, hopeless shoppers decided the best thing they could do was get on their knees and pray for the little one.
“The next moment all those present fell down on their knees and prayed – that’s all we could do. Then I heard someone screaming that she was breathing! I cannot describe the joy and gratitude we all felt because she was breathing,” said Danika in a Roodepoort Record article.
Not long thereafter an ambulance arrived and the little baby received some professional help.
