A 10-year-old boy from Citrusdal has died after drowning while swimming with friends. His family and school community were devastated.

Kendrick Titus lost his life in what is believed to have been a tragic accident at Olifants River. Reports suggest he became trapped in a sandpit in water.

His father, identified as Nigel Beukes, spoke to Die Son about the pain of losing Kendrick so suddenly:

"I cannot describe the feeling. My heart is broken. If I could just hear him one more time or say a proper goodbye."

Kendrick was a learner at a primary school in Citrusdal, and his death has left both his classmates and teachers in mourning.
