The footage, shot outdoors on a dirt path surrounded by thick greenery, captured a coiled snake in a highly defensive posture. Before the handlers could manage the situation, the snake lunged in their direction, sending the crew scrambling backwards.

The Afrikaans voiceover on the clip narrated the tense scene as it unfolded, warning viewers to keep their distance. "Die slang is baie baie ontsteld," the narrator said (the snake is very, very upset), urging anyone watching not to approach.

What made the video grab attention was the reversal of roles. The professionals, not the snake, were the ones backing away. The snake, clearly unbothered by who was filming, eventually retreated into the dense vegetation on its own terms.

The Slangboere narrator used the moment as a direct message to the public, saying that even a single encounter with a snake can go dangerously wrong if you do not know what you are doing. The advice was clear: if you spot a snake, do not try to handle it yourself. Call a professional snake catcher. Watch the snake charge at the handlers in the viral Slang Boere video:

South Africans in the comments had plenty to say:

Roy J Revels said:

"Cottonmouth! The 'pit bull' of snakes! Mean and cantankerous!"

Jeffery Camp wrote:

"O that's a cotton mouth they not aggressive he want bit you 😂"

Donovan Martinez shared:

"We're trying to tell everyone, these snakes are extremely aggressive and they will chase you. Even if you're simply in their territory. Besides the coachwhip, it's the only snake I know of that will do this."
