- A young man defied his school authority, went on stage, and threw money into the crowd as he caused a commotion
- When an official came to caution him, the graduate continued as he made the air rain more dollar notes
- Among those who commented on the development on Twitter were those who said what he did was not a criminal act and should not have been arrested
A young US rapper, Metro Marrs, pulled off a stunt that would probably have got him a pat on the back in other climes.
At his graduation ceremony in Atlanta, the man threw $5000 (R68 680) cash in the air and continued doing so despite authority trying to stop him.
His flagrant disobedience got him arrested and detained by the police. A video of the act has since gone viral on Twitter.
HipHopWired which gathered that the money was more than $5000 (N2,056,250) quoted the young rapper as saying that he only wanted to create memories.
Once bitten, twice encouraged
In the clip, the young man gyrated on the stage, throwing dollar bills in the air as co-graduates screamed.
TMZ reports that the man vowed to repeat the same thing at his brother's graduation which would come up soon.

Why arrest him?
Briefly News compiled some of the reactions below:
"Graduation ceremonies are so boring anyways he gave it a lil flavor to spice it up."
"Please, why was he arrested, was it fraud or stolen money? Is he a criminal?"
"Unfortunately, it says a lot about his values."
"If y'all gonna complain that what he did was wrong then y'all need to move to the back as I pick that money up."
"I dont agree with arresting him but I think arresting him is sending a message to every other kid graduating next year…..DO NOT DO THIS lol."
"So rich the school be calling the cops out of jealousy LMAAAAOOOO."
Some did it better in the church
Meanwhile, Briefly News earlier reported that a viral video shared by Twitter handle @Naija_PR showed young men throwing money in the air without caution in the church as the choir sang on.
Men believed to be either elders or pastors danced as some gathered the avalanche on the floor. A part of the video showed two full basins of money.
After spraying some notes, the men kneeled amid the prophets, dipped their hands into their bags for more bunches as they threw more into the offering basins.
