So, what is it that makes a man the best husband material if it is not good looks, money and intelligence? According to the South Africans ladies, kindness it the most important quality in a good hubby.

The conversation started when Rebecca, or @empress_becca, commented on another social media user’s post about kind men.

“My boss’ wife said to me on a ride home once, Rebecca, I didn’t marry him because he was rich or educated. I married him because he was the kindest person I had ever met. From that day, I only engaged kind men. I’m currently dating one of the kindest souls on earth”, Rebecca wrote on Twitter.

Her post received a lot of replies from women who agree with her, including the DA’s shadow minister of communication, Phumzile Van Damme.

“I can testify to this. I am married to the kindest man I know, he is amazing. If we were elements I would be fire and he, water. Perfect synergy”, Van Damme wrote.

Briefly.co.za learned Van Damme and her hubby, Stian Tvede Karlsen, celebrated their seventh-year anniversary this year.

The DA parliamentarian posted a message on 20 May, which marked their seventh wedding anniversary.

“Today is my husband & I's 7th anniversary of being together. We also have our traditional wedding ceremony annivesary, then also our white wedding annivesary. He asks if this is perhaps not excessive”, she captioned a meme.
