South Africa has been buzzing with pride ever since the 2019 remake of The Lion King was announced; however, the recent cast picture has dulled the people of Mzansi’s sparkle.

The Lion King put Africa on the global animation and film map, and for that its people have been forever grateful and loyal to the brand.

Briefly.co.za learnt that the South African people are utterly horrified by a recent post of The Lion King cast as our veteran actor John Kani is nowhere to be seen.

On Monday, The Lion King’s official Twitter page posted a snap of what they called ‘the cast of #TheLionKing’. The picture includes Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, John Oliver, Beyoncé and a few others, but no John Kani or veteran US actor James Earl Jones (voice of Mufasa).

The people of Mzansi completely were shook. How Disney felt that it was okay to leave John Kani out of the official cast picture, Kani fans cannot fathom.

While US Twitter was going crazy over the fact that their veteran actor, James, had been excluded, South African Twitter was going off its rocker about John Kani's exclusion.

The people feel that our beloved Mother Land has been used, abused and disrespected yet again to the advantage of America, and they want answers!
