Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau has recently been lauded by one of his former teammates at Royal Union Saint-Gilloise.

Thibault Peyre played with the South African forward for Union SG in the Belgian second division and explained the impact Tau had on his teammates.

In an interview with SoFoot, Peyre said: "He was very discreet and lived alone, but we discovered a great teammate in him. A guy of rare humility."

Tau landed at the Belgian side after being signed by Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Premier League.

Unfortunately, Tau was unable to secure a work permit in England, which has necessitated the two consecutive loan spells.

Tau is making the most of his current loan deal with Club Brugge as per his heroics in the UEFA Champions League.

Despite this, Briefly.co.za gathered that Tau has somehow remained humble.

Peyre added, "He was paid six or seven times our salary, but he came into the dressing room as one of us."

KickOFF.com reported that Tau commands a hefty R560 000 weekly salary from Brighton and Hove Albion.
