Media personality Lunga Shabalala has reportedly confirmed his exit from The River. The star played the character of Lindani Dhlomo on the popular 1Magic soapie.
Lunga has portrayed the role for over two years and his character has been leading the show for the past couple of episodes due to the storyline. The actor, who shot to fame during his days as a presenter of SABC 1 entertainment show Selimathunzi, has shared that he anticipates a brighter future in the land of acting.
He expressed that he was grateful for the role the telenovela played in his acting career as many of his fans knew him only as a TV presenter.
iHarare reports that the media personality has another great project coming up. He shared that he cannot reveal much at the moment but will reveal everything at the right time.
"The River was an amazing experience and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an amazing team. I’ve definitely made friends and family for life there," he told the publication.

In related news, Briefly.co.za reported that Siyabonga Shibe has officially left . The actor penned a heartfelt farewell post on social media after he filmed his last scene.
Siyabonga, who played the role of Qhabanga, aka Pastor Mdletshe on the popular telenovela, shared a clip of himself dancing while the cast and crew of Uzalo sang for him. The star captioned his post:
"What a great journey it has been with #uzalo_sabc1, I enjoyed every moment of this production."
Siyabonga shared that he had made friends with the crew and cast of the show. He said working with the cast had been a "gem of a fantastic experience".
"It has been my honour to share the screen and wear those shoes of every character we play together. We really make the script come to life, we'll work again."
